8th Grade

I will be speaking to a group of 8th graders this month about the harm of abortion, but of course, also about God’s mercy. Sometimes it can be hard to find the balance of letting them know God forgives, but also letting them know there are consequences to sin and that it is not ok to go out there and abort and assume forgiveness.
I have seen on many pro abortion sites just that sentiment. They will say "Don’t you believe God is good and merciful and will forgive you?" Almost as though to hesitate or not abort would be a denial of God’s love and forgiveness. It is crazy. So, I pray to be able to speak to them in truth..the truth of abortion. The truth of the unborn destroyed and the harm to  women and men, and the suffering and torment that come with abortion as a consequence of the sin, even though God is forgiving….there is no quick fix for such a  serious sin and they will not walk away unharmed…in fact, although you may reach healing, the cross of abortion is always there, it is just easier to carry because you carry it with Christ, who died, that we may have life.

Please pray that their hearts are touched by Christ….
