LA Times

I sent this letter to the LA Times in response to this http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/asection/la-oe-kissling22jan22,1,3764661.story?ctrack=1&cset=true needless to say they did not print it:

To the Editor:

The Voice
Unmentioned

Frances Kissling and Kate Michelman’s January
22nd opinion article “Abortion’s battle of messages” left out one
very important voice. The voice of those women who have experienced abortion and
are speaking out about the harm it has done them. They have recognized the lies
of abortion being a quick fix ,and are angry that their feelings continued to be
denied.

As a post abortive woman myself, it amazes me how every
discussion surrounding the abortion issue projects the “anti abortion” and “pro
choice” views, but continues to deny or bury the “post abortive” view. It is as
if we, as the mothers of these aborted babies have been aborted ourselves, by a
society that refuses to acknowledge our experience or accept the
t

ruth

of the harm it has done to
countless numbers of us.

Groups of women are springing up all over the country,
not only for healing from abortion, but to speak publicly in different arenas so
women who may be considering abortion can know the full risks, not only in the
death of their unborn child, but physically, psychologically and spiritually for
themselves.

A defining factor unmentioned by both Kissling and
Michelman, are groups such as Silent No More and Operation Outcry, where women
are giving a face to abortions pain. Moreover, the tied is turning, not only
because of these women
and  technology that allows us to see the unborn child, but because everyone now
knows someone who is
post abortive, and they themselves are seeing the harm it has done. Our mothers,
sisters, friends, daughters and wives are struggling to be healed from their
abortion experience. This is a major factor in the turning of tides. It is
called the TRUTH.

Try as the “pro choice”  and “anti abortion” sides
might, the tide will continue to turn, not because of them but because of those
of us who have been there. The t

ruth

will prevail, because of just that, it is the t

ruth

.

Way to go Theresa. Great letter. But, it doesn’t surprise me that the LA Times didn’t print it. They are about as “pro-abortion” a newspaper as I’ve read.
All we can do is keep trying. Our message is being heard.
    God Bless,
