Considering my post a day or so ago with a picture of my statue of St Joseph holding a fetus model representing my aborted son, and a link to the Oblates of Joseph who have a statue of St Joseph holding a baby , http://www.osjoseph.org/osj/patron-unborn.php ,I found it very much of a coincidence to get this article in th email today from the National Catholic Register on the mizuko.
A mizuko is a fetus, in Japanese, that is aborted or miscarries….read about it here

In the end the article mentions the Oblates statues….
of course, there are many memorials to the unborn. Many churches have small shrines, as do some cemeteries. Then there are places like the National Memorial to the Unborn http://www.memorialfortheunborn.org/.
My favorite however has always been the Hope Sculpture by Beverly Paddleford. http://www.hopemonument.com/
Not sure why, but my guess is the compassion and love in the eyes of Mercy Himself!
