I must admit, over the past few weeks I have found myself stuck in the middle of the abortion debate again.
I seem to get stuck when I see both sides acting like they have all the answers. The battle is raging, while those post abortive are often left to sit on the sidelines. Neither side gives them a prominent voice, instead proclaiming how they have it right.
It seems that those who mourn are the last to be heard. Those directly involved, the last to be listened to.
I personally will be glad when it is over. Of course, I worry about Obama and his promise to Planned Parenthood to overturn all restrictions on abortion. I feel this is a great injustice to women who already are denied knowledge of the harm abortion can do physically, emotionally and spiritually. I can never see his stance as anything but extreme while looking at his voting record and lack of promotion of legislation to truly protect women.
In the end, I do believe this will just keep going on and on until women speak for themselves and until the culture in which we live respects all life by honoring the sanctity of pro creation instead of using sex as an activity for personal gratification. "Freedom of Choice" has certainly left women in bondage…
