Lumina Events

God does not want evil, but may
want its consequences, since the consequences of evil impart grace and the call
to be converted

 (The Gift
of Faith, Tadeusz Dajczer pg 79)

Ok, so now what? It is hard not to get discouraged in the
face of the consequences for life from the new administraton which already has
put in the works measures to over turn many restrictions on abortion. How can
God possibly want its consequences if it means the destruction of more
innocents? And yet, ours is not to know, only to keep our eyes on Him with faith
in Him who is Mercy itself.  God is still
in control, and we need to trust in the face of what appears to be devastating .

I am pleased to tell you all of some exciting events and
opportunities, that with your help, we hope to get the word out about…in these
times it is even more crucial for us to spread the message of God’s mercy and
also to take advantage of opportunities for prayer and reparation for the sin
of abortion, which we know will now increase.

May Our Merciful Lord who is Mercy Himself help us to
always keep our eyes on Him, the Lord and Creator of all Life.

 Please spread the
word. For further info on these events call Lumina 1-877-586-4621

  • Men’s Day of Prayer & Healing
    – on November 22, 2009, a Men’s Day of Prayer and healing will be held at
Our Lady of New York Convent in the

    Bronx

    .
This ministry, now in its fourth year, continues to grow as more and more
men come forward to heal from involvement in a past abortion.

  • Day of Remembrance – On
January 21, 2009, Lumina is blessed to be able to sponsor, along with the
New York Family Life Office, The USCCB Secretariat for Pro Life
Activities, and The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in

    Washington

    ,

    DC

    ,
a “Day of Remembrance”.  This prayer
service will take place between 1pm – 4pm in the

    Crypt

    Church

on the lower level of the Basilica. Perhaps more than ever before, this service,
which, over the past four years, Theresa Bonopartis along with The Sisters
of Life, have hosted in different locations throughout New York, will
allow us all to join together to pray for the unborn, all those touched by
abortion and our nation. Those who have attended this day in the past
would attest to the workings of the Holy Spirit as we ask for intercession
for the cause of life. It is a great blessing to be able to bring this to
the Basilica the day before the March for Life.

  •  Pilgrimage – A Pilgrimage to Medjugore
is to take place in March under the direction of Father Conrad Osterhaut,
CFR. Anyone knowing Father would recognize what a great gift it is to have
him lead this trip. What better time to invoke Our Lady than now, as we
seek to remain under her mantle.
  •  Poor Pre Natal Day – Over
the past month, we have received numerous calls from couples who aborted a
child due to a poor pre natal diagnosis. We all recognize the pressures
put on couples to abort if their unborn child is seen as anything less
than perfect. As this part of Luminas ministry, in its second year,
continues to grow, we ask that you help get the word out for this day,
which appears to be answer to prayer for many out there suffering.

Thank you for your help in spreading the word. May many
be called to conversion!
