Advent Retreat

For those of you who were unable to attend,
This was the theme of our retreat this year which was held on Saturday.
"Look at the Humility of God"
Here is a picture of the altarAdvent08

and here was our scripture meditation and questions:

Scripture Meditation

Philippians 2:6-11,
"your attitude should be that of Christ Jesus: who, being in very nature
God, did not considered equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the
very nature of a servant to humble himself and became obedient to death – even
to death on the cross"

·
    What comes to mind
when you think of God

               making Himself “nothing”

·
    Does
knowing this help you to see His love for you?

·
    We
often are shocked that we had abortions, it goes against our nature of thinking
we       know what is best..what does making yourself “nothing mean to you? Why would
we           want to do that for our healing?

·         Are
you able to internalize the fact they He came and died for your sins, for your
abortions? If not, what thoughts block your realization of that?

·
Advent
is a time of preparing for the coming of Christ…are you preparing yourself…are
you looking with joyful anticipation, or fear?
