It was 21 years ago today that I welcomed the pilgrim
statue of Our Lady into my house for the first time. She was “traveling” in
our area and we got to keep her for a week inviting others to join us each
evening for the rosary.
At that same time, I belonged to a prayer group that had
weekly adoration and study. At that time, we had been reading “True Devotion”,
by St Louis Marie De Montforte, and Our Lady came to my home on the same day I
was to make my consecration.
The journey these 21 years has been amazing. My
consecration is part of my daily life from the way I receive the Eucharist to
my prayers and offerings. There is no doubt in my mind that Mary has been my
safe harbor through many trials, my main stay in difficulties and the mother
protecting me from many dangers. She has provided the courage I have needed in
this work and helped me always to grow in faith leading me always to her Son.
I also have no doubt it is she that watches over our post
abortive work which is significantly under her protection under the title of
Our Lady of Czestochowa. You can read why here:

Mary proclaims in the Magnificat:
My soul doth magnify
the Lord : and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.
For he hath
regarded : the lowliness of his handmaiden.
For behold, from
henceforth : all generations shall call me blessed.
For he that is mighty
hath magnified me : and holy is his Name.
The Responsorial Psalm
today says: Remember the marvels the Lord
has done
Today, let us remember the marvels the Lord has
done in our lives, even if you are just beginning your post abortion healing
journey. As we travel through Lent meditating on the Passion, death and
Resurrection of Jesus, let us also recognize that Our Lady willingly sacrificed her son in order for our sins to be forgiven
and that she prayed for us as she stood at the foot of the cross.
Our Lady of Czestochowa, pray for us!
