Supreme Court

Ok, so I came into work with a little excitement going on where my office is. TV cameras are set up outside ..I am in a building that is part of Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx. http://www.cardinalspellman.org/ (my door is just to the left of the picture)

Turns out the new Supreme Court nominee, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, is a graduate of Cardinal Spellman….sad to say though that "Sotomayor is considered one of the most liberal of Obama's potential nominees,". Some of her ruling were definitely what this administration says it wants.."empathy"…I thought they were suppose to uphold the constitution!

Anyway, Spellman or not, she is not my kind of Supreme Court pick. Not much on her about abortion..all I could find was this…

AUL notes that Sotomayor upheld a ban on federal funds going to abortion
providers overseas. "The Supreme Court has made clear that the government is
free to favor the antiabortion position over the pro-choice position, and can do
so with public funds," Sotomayor wrote in the decision. She has also ruled in
favor of antiabortion protesters who sued West Hartford, Conn., claiming that
police there used excessive force against them at a demonstration.

Interesting….
