…a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities
I had an interesting conversion with someone the other night. They brought up the murder of George Tiller and began to repeat the main media mantra of him as a "hero". A hero he was not.
While I completely reject the murder of Tiller, the man is responsible for the deaths of around 60,000 babies, some of whose parents I have come to know and love. I have seen the pictures he took of them with their aborted babies as he attempted to make a terrible occurrence seem like a normal event. I have heard their shame, guilt, anger and sorrow as they came to recognize just what they had gone through and the lies and deceit they experienced.
The other night in Union Square here in NY a prayer rally was held for Tiller. I actually considered going to pray for him until I saw that he was going to be "honored". While we all should pray for him and his family in this terrible time," honor" I will not.
Abortion kills babies, and women…both by the act and through others…it causes division in relationships and families and years of grief, anger and shame. It has divided our nation…been a cause for anxiety as medical professionals are threatened and churches condemned for rejecting it.
We can pretend it is not happening, we can make every excuse in the book for its justification, we can call evil good and good evil, and even doctors who kill, heros, but the truth of what it really is can never be hidden because the truth always prevails.
