From the Elliot Institute:

Research indicates that abortion's effect on men is
significant, yet these realities are rarely acknowledged.

Many men are affected directly or indirectly by abortion.
While some men may regret their role in an abortion, others
were left out of the decision and only learned of it after
the fact.

Many fathers grieve the loss of a child they never knew or
held.

Others also grieve the loss of a daughter or other loved
one injured or killed by pregnancy-related abuse or
violence or who was killed during or after abortion.

In addition to reaching out to individuals and families
hurt by abortion, Father's Day is also a good time to give
other fathers a head's up. Many don't realize that their
own daughters or kids in their circles are at risk of
coercion … in schools, medical centers, or even shopping
mall clinics.

We are offering some simple but powerful ways you can reach
individuals and families hurting or at risk this Father's
Day.

Please consider sharing one of our Father's Day ads or
flyers locally, in church bulletins, civic group
publications and elsewhere. You can help warn dads whose
daughters are at risk, let other dads know they're not
alone, and raise public awareness about the issue.

"Co-op" versions feature space for a local message or an
individual, group or corporate sponsor.

Run the Father's Day ad/flyer in civic or religious and
other publications. Put copies in church bulletins,
newsletters or even your local newspaper. Use it as is or
publish or distribute the co-op version that includes space
for information about your organization, event or ministry.

A Shared Prayer

*****************

If your church offers special Father's Day prayers or
blessings, ask your pastor or prayer group to also
acknowledge and pray for fathers who have lost a child and
for those who have lost their daughters, mothers or
children, born and unborn.

If you're part of a prayer group or have a prayer
intentions line or list, add this to your intentions.
Encourage others to submit their own similar intentions as
well.

Pray also for those who were deceptively informed, kept in
the dark, or who lost both a child and a daughter or other
loved one.

Ask your pastor to address the legacy of deceptively
informed counseling or misleading policy practices, the
aftermath of grief, the need to challenge all of us at the
local level to offer better support for individuals or
families facing challenging pregnancy. Ask leaders to also
remind those hurt of God's mercy and the existence of a
judgment-free environment where healing is possible.
