Changed forever

Abortion changes you. There is no question about that. There is even a web site with the title. http://www.abortionchangesyou.com/Reflecting this past weekend really made me recognize just how much. It was within the year after Woodstock that I became pregnant and my entire life changed for ever.

No one tells you that when you are going for an abortion. There is a misconception that life will go back to the way it was before you got pregnant, but no matter what your feelings on abortion. That is not true. That one act (a serious one) changes everything about life. It changes your self esteem, it changes your relationships, it changes how you view life. Most of all it ends the life of an unborn child. Your child.

We can spend our time beating ourselves up for giving in to the decision to abort, or making ourselves feel we "should have known better" or "I cannot believe I did that", but it is a waste of time. What we really need to do is embrace healing, learn what happened and why, and in the end, allow our abortions through the grace of God, to change us for the better. St Augustine said; "God judged it better to bring good out of evil than to suffer no evil to exist.

Allow God to bring good out of your abortion…find help near you and begin the journey….
