Reclaiming Our Children: A Blog About Healing After Abortion

 “All things work
together for good for those who love God” Romans 8:28

I am going to share a
little with you about the significance of this quote in my life.

When I was first asked
to leave corporate America
and work full time again in post abortion ministry at Good Counsel Lumina
program, I must admit, I was very hesitant. As a struggling single parent for
many years, I had finally put my sons through college and was about to have the
“easy” life making good money at Nestle Waters doing corporate real estate.
After all, I was doing post abortion work on a volunteer basis, why did I have
to do it full time? So, when Chris Bell and Dave Reardon approached me about
the situation, I am ashamed to say, I did not want to take it with its pay cut which
amounted to $30,000 a year.

Although I prayed and
said I wanted to do Gods will, I rationalized as well, and made the call to
Chris telling him I was not able to take the job. Chris, in a way that only
Chris can, gave me a one sentence answer “All
things work together for good for those who love God”. I remember thinking,
“that was odd!”

As days went by, I
felt tormented…I prayed and prayed and found no peace in my decision. Being the
“human” that I am, I told God if He sent me a sign to let me know for sure it
was His will for me to leave Nestle and do the post abortion work full time, I
promised I would listen and not count the cost. The following morning I went to
Mass as I do daily…as I listened to the reading, I was shocked to hear: ”All
things work together for good for those who love God”. There was no mistaking
what I then had to do.

 I
called Chris to see if the job was still open and gave my notice at Nestle.
That was seven years ago and needless to say, God has granted many blessing, as
through His grace hundreds have come forward for post abortion healing. The
reward of seeing their misery turn to joy, is worth more than any amount of
money. I consider myself so blessed to do this work!

So remember, one day at a time with the help of His grace and healing will be yours..That is His desire!
