Having had my abortion as a teenager, it angers me that kids can make a life altering decision such as abortion without parental consent. Perhaps because I know all the implications of having an abortion at such a young age. Not only did it take the life of my child, but it stunted my maturity and caused me to mess up crucial years of my life.
I know, those of you who know my story may think that is strange that I would want parental consent considering I was forced to abort by my dad. But at least that was our family mistake, not the action and support of a strangers who did not even know me, let alone love me. At least my dad and I got a chance to reconcile before he died.
It is a huge injustice to allow kids to make this decision on their own…
