Faith in Healing

"The essence
of trustful abandonment to Jesus and of adherence to Him lies in our accepting
the unknown that remains in darkness, and therefore demands faith
." (The Gift of Faith pg 34)

This really struck me today as I opened up my email and read the message from the book "The Gift of Faith" http://www.inthearmsofmary.org/thegiftoffaithbyfrtadeuszdajczersoftback.aspx

Sometimes people think faith is never having any doubt, or feeling good, or merrily rolling along, but faith is trusting in spite of those feelings of doubt, in spite of what we see or don't see. It means, even when I am stressed and it seems all is lost, I continue to trust in the love and mercy of God knowing He is taking care of me because He loves me and desires my salvation.

I think it is so important to remember this, especially when we are in that darkness, for whatever reason. I know that in healing from abortion that darkness comes often. We find ourselves in the pit, seeming like we never advance and in fact, move backwards at times. We can easily be assailed by thoughts of despair and hopelessness, self hate, anger etc, but we should never give in. Instead, we confidently, in spite of our feelings, should make an act of trust in God, reach out for support, and know the truth of God's promises which never are broken even when we think they are.

This quote was a good reminder to me…I may be in darkness at times, but God never is, and He loves me and knows just what I need.
