Reclaiming Our Children: A Blog About Healing After Abortion

For years the church, and many pro lifers have gone on the defensive when it comes to abortion. The pro abortion side continually tries to tell us to stay out of the debate trying to make abortion a religious issue. Chants such as "keep your rosaries off my ovaries" have been shouted for years. But abortion is not a religious issue.

It has always driven me crazy that we have allowed them to do this by falling in to the mind set. I even wrote a piece about it not long ago, so it was nice to wake up to this quote by our new Bishop here in New York, Dolan:

"In our mind, being opposed to abortion, is a civil rights issue, it's
a natural law issue, it's not a Catholic issue," Dolan continued. "We'd
be uncomfortable in anybody that would, say, promote a stand that would
be for bigotry, or against civil rights, because that's contrary not
only to the teaching of the Church but to what we would call civil
rights and the natural law."
