So, I just finished reading this article : "Humility is one of My Best Traits" http://catholicexchange.com/2010/06/03/130960/

Of course, just the title made me chuckle, because if you think it is your best trait, you obviously are not really humble at all! Ah! Our human nature!

Humility is one of my favorites because I think it is key in healing from abortion. When we say, God cannot forgive us, or we are so bad we do not deserve His mercy, it is really another act of pride. Of thinking we know better than God.

So many people throughout history have separated themselves from God because of their pride…Adam & Eve, and Judas, to name just a couple. It is hard for us to see that our tendency to say we are unforgivable or to refuse to forgive ourselves is an act of pride…

Therefore, place your trust in God, accept His forgiveness. Yes, it is true we are not worthy of it, but it does not matter because it is about Him not about us. So, if you think humility is one of your best traits, remember this saying:

Humility, once you think you have it you have lost it !
