Heard a beautiful story today. A fellow daily communicant just lost his dad.
While at the hospital by his side while he was dying, the parishioners wife suggested he put his scapular around his dads neck…no sooner had he done this and laid his fathers head back down then he passed away. It was as if Mary came to get him turning a very sad experience into something very beautiful.
To hear my friend tell this story brought tears to my eyes and I had no doubt she came and got his dad..she is like that, bringing good out of even things seemingly bad. A mom always looking out for her kids to bring them safely home to her Son.
I know she did that for me with my abortion, took the worse thing in my life and brought good out of it.
As we come closer to the feast of her Immaculate Heart, may we thank her for the many graces she obtains for us with her Son…
O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart
of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As your children, we implore
your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the
petitions we place before you today, especially …(special intention). We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to
those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your gentle care and intercession, those whom
we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help all of us, Holy Mother, to bear our
burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever.
Amen.
