Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother
and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas,
When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved
he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.”
Then he said to the disciple,
“Behold, your mother.”
And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.
- The above reading states Jesus saw, in the midst of His pain, His mother standing there and the disciple “whom He loved”. They were willing to be there for him in his pain. Many of Jesus’ friends abandoned Him on the way to the Cross.
- Do you feel abandoned with your abortion feelings, like no one is willing to listen or be with you in your pain , that there is no one to speak to? That people tell you to “get over it”? How do you deal with those feelings?
- Do you take advantage of those you have met in the ministry when you are having a hard time. If not, what stops you?
- Jesus gave you Mary as your Mother. Who do you go to, to help you work through your abortion issues?
- Lent is a time of great mercy – meditate during this time on the love of God for you
