Reclaiming Our Children: A Blog About Healing After Abortion

This slogan of late term abortionist George Tiller is used by those in the pro choice movement to portray their supposed committment  to ensuring that women are trusted to make their own abortion decision.

We are led to believe they value women’s intelligence and trust them to know what is the best option, but is this projected perception really true?

 As a post abortive woman myself, I have thought long and hard about what women are being told and the reality of the abortion proponents, like Planned Parenthood, NARAL and just about any other group who promotes abortion at any time and for any reason.

Oftentimes, before my own healing I found myself totally confused. Things just never seemed to add up. What I heard from these people who supposedly trusted me so much, and what their actions were was so conflicting. I must admit, at times they actually had me wondering if I was crazy. It took my healing for me to recognize that in fact, I was not crazy, they really do not trust women at all.

 Aside from the obvious, like blocking “Women’s right to Know Legislation”, and  denying the existence of post abortion stress to spite thousands of us voicing our experiences, there is the latest and in my opinion not only insulting, but criminal passage of Bill #371 against Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPC’s)by the New York City Council, signed by Mayor Bloomberg who himself admits he is unsure of its constitutionality. Two other places, Baltimore and Seattle never passed this bill because of its violations of freedom of speech.

 Pregnancy Centers are being targeted. In case you missed the hoopla on Bill 371, it basically imposes regulations and requirements to post signage, advertise and verbally announce on the phone what services they do not do. What other place is required to do this? Not only is it unconstitutional, but a travesty of a pro abortion lobby who want us to believe they care for women, especially since not one lawsuit has ever been filed against a NYC CPC.

 These people who claim to trust women to make their own decisions, show by this Bill how little they truly  trust these same women to figure out that CPC’s with names like “Expectant Mother Care”,  and Pregnancy Resource Center, do not provide abortions. At the same time, they would like us to believe they trust them enough to make a life altering decision such as abortion. Which is it guys, are we intelligent enough to make decisions or not, or is it just the decisions you would like us to make that earn your trust?

 It is a shame that Christine Quinn, Jessica Lappin, Mayor Bloomberg and the others on the New York City Council who passed this bill were not as concerned about signage at abortion clinics in NYC, which in contrast have had many suits against them from injuries and deaths resulting from supposed “safe legal abortion”. Where is their concern?  Perhaps they should introduce a bill with requirements for signs such as, “Abortions can result in a perforated uterus, a hysterectomy, or severe emotional distress.”  Just this past month a woman almost died at a NYC clinic from abortion, but Bloomberg, Lappin and Quinn obviously have no concern for her.

 Somehow, we women have allowed them to get away with this. I often think it is because we were filled with so much guilt and shame we did not think we had a right to speak out. That is changing with every day as more and more people share the damage abortion has done to them. Women are coerced into abortion everyday by husbands, boyfriends, and family members, again, no concern there. No one forces anyone to keep their child. Seeing the truth of your babies development as well as the truth of what abortion does and being offered alternatives that can help you  to keep your child is something many who are  now suffering because of abortion wish they had been able to see.

 Every year at Lumina, Hope & healing After Abortion we see two hundred new people who have been devastated by their abortion experiences, but these women get no trust. Instead,  they are ignored and their feelings are denied by the pro abortion mentality that truly has no trust in any women who disagrees with their agenda, but instead only trusts their god of abortion.
