Well, it looks like the people over at the pro abortion site JEZEBEL are having a major problem with Kevin Burkes article on Steven Tyler. Like is always the case with those promoting abortion, they blame his problems on his drug addictions and his narcissistic attitude. For sure, problems were there before the abortion happened. Normal parents do not give up guardianship and let their 14 year old girl go off with a rock star, and obviously, men in their twenties should not be with 14 year old girls, but having had the same kind of abortion and seeing what Steve (and I am sure, Julia Holcomb, his GF) saw, I can assure you, it messed them up for a very long time, and unless they got help, it is still causing turmoil.
All the things mentioned in Kevins article are things I experienced having also had a saline.I felt suicidal just like Holcomb. I worried like millions of others who are post abortive, when I got pregnant again,if I was going to get punished for what I had done by having a "monster".I could go on and on…
I found the comments (which by the way I was not able to make) very uneducated. One of them by Whigmaleerie says,"It just seemed like a really non-legit, unrealistic description of the procedure, like how anti-choice people imagine abortions to be." Well, Whigmaleerie, to be honest I do not blame you for thinking this, it seems inhumane doesn't it, to have a procedure such as this? But saline abortions, were pretty common until they began killing a lot of the women, and yes, it is as awful as it sounds, they are all awful.
I saw my "son" too. Would it have mattered if it was a daughter? No, but they miss the point,it was a son, his son, and in my case, my son and the fact that you can tell that intensifies everything, and makes you realize the horror of what you have done even more deeply. Your baby is suddenly right in front of you and very real . There is no hiding behind the lies of abortion, or the ignorance, you just killed a baby, and there is no doubt about it.
So, once again, the pro aborts refuse to acknowledge the pain and suffering and trauma of those who are post abortive. They cling to the security of the APA's (led by pro abort Brenda Majors, PhD)discredit for such a thing like a frightened child would cling to her teddy bear. The article states that the APA, "assures us abortion is a safe procedure with no negative effects on a man's or a woman's mental health." Tell that to the millions of us who suffer!
Thank God we have found each other, legitmizing the pain we were told we did not have, leaving us feeling like we were crazy. The truth is, the APA's can say what they want, but it does nothing to diminish what we who are post abortive know to be true, and no one can stop us from speaking our truth. As more and more women and men come forward because they hear us, and relate because of their own experiences, it is becoming harder and harder to dispel the truth…which, by the way, always wins in the end!
No doubt about it, Steven Tyler was really messed up in more ways than one, and I am sure he would be the first to admit it, but that does nothing to discredit the trauma of the death of their son by a saline solution. One issue does not erase the other and all need to be treated.
I am praying for Steven. If he is reading all of this stuff I am sure it is all hitting the surface again. I pray for his continued sobriety and also, if he has not received help for the abortion yet, that he finds a place to go. Like I said in my other post, I wish he knew of our men's day tomorrow.(Please Pray for those coming !)
There is healing after abortion!
Thanks Kevin for a great article!
Here is the one from Jezebel:
Right Wing Co-opts Steven Tyler’s "Post-Abortion Trauma"
Irin Carmon —Do you know why Steven Tyler's life went awry in the 70s and 80s? It wasn't because he was a drug addict or a narcissistic rock star surrounded by adoration. It's because his teenage girlfriend had an abortion in the mid-70s.
That, at least, is the contention by Kevin Burke in an article on the National Review website today. Burke is in the business of "post-abortion syndrome" — he's the co-founder of a non-profit program that does weekend retreats for women who have had abortions and their families.
