A couple of months ago it was hard to turn on the TV or open a magazine without hearing something about Charlie Sheen. Day by day we witnessed his melt down. Call me crazy, but I have to admit he has been haunting me.

Like most addicts, he is surrounded by enablers who support his crazy ranting, and unfortunately, do not seem to care that he is dying before our eyes. As popular as “Two and a Half Men” has been, it was really only Charlie, being, well, Charlie.

Sheen got paid millions for his sinful behavior of promiscuity, drunkenness, and degrading women on a show that sadly, just mirrored his life. Is it any wonder he thought he was invincible? He has been taken in by the deceits of the devil. Society made him a god, and sadly he has become so caught up in it all he actually believes it.

In reality, Charlie’s life is not different from anyone who is caught up in addiction. He has problems which we would delve into doing a psycho social intake at any rehab. Unfortunately, he can hide from the destruction easier because of his money and the people around him who are benefiting from his crazy actions, like the 20 something girls he has living with him, and even the media who up until recently, loved that his life was making them tons of money.

It must be heartbreaking for his family to see him melt down and not be able to help. Not only is he physically destroying himself, his spiritual and emotional life is disintegrating before our eyes not to mention his behavior leading to the aborting of at least one unborn baby that we know of (why do I think there are probably many more).

Still society both idolizes and condemns him. Many people have been more concerned about the death of the show “Two and a Half Men” then Charlie’s death, both spiritually and physically. Others condemn him for his behavior calling him numerous names as if they were above sinning.

Don’t get me wrong. I abhor what Charlie does, but I am reminded to hate the sin not the sinner, and how grateful I am for God’s mercy and that He never gave up on me as a post abortive woman.

I believe that there is hope, not in Charlie Sheen turning his life around by his own power, but in the mercy, love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, who loves him as much as any one of us. So, I have a message for Charlie, “You don’t need “Two and a Half Men”, you only need one man, Jesus Christ!”
