Reclaiming Our Children: A Blog About Healing After Abortion

I will be a guest of Sr Marie Pappas tomorrow on the Catholic Channel of Sirius radio show, "Pathways of Learning" at 12pm.

I will be joined by Tracy Winsor . Tracy Winsor comes to us from Charlotte, NC where she is the Outreach Coordinator for Be Not Afraid (BNA)…a peer ministry in the Catholic Diocese of Charlotte that supports parents carrying to term following a poor prenatal diagnosis.  Tracy who has a masters degree in public administration has worked in young family ministry and bereavement support for over 12 years.

  BNA Charlotte in conjunction with benotafraid.net is currently sistering five services .  Tracy has just completed work on a pastoral care manual offering insights on the BNA model of care, and has provided countless hours of mentoring and support to these newly developing services in SC, VA, FL, TX and RI.

She has spoke extensively regarding the issues of poor prenatal diagnosis and abortion, and how to best encourage parents to carry to term.  In the fall of 2010, Tracy and I were in  a national webinar on that subject sponsored by the Secretariat of Pro-life Activities and the Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development of the USCCB, the National Catholic Partnership on Disability, and the National Council of Catholic Women. 

In a time when countless couples are pressured to abort due to an adverse diagnosis, we will be sharing supports available, as well as the devastation felt by couples who have  given in to that pressure.
