Holy Mass will be followed with prayer and a peaceful procession to a nearby abortion center.  We will pray and peacefully give witness to our support for life.   The procession will return to Our Saviour’s for Benediction,

The walk is sponsored by Good Counsel and will benefit Good Counsel Homes, Sisters of Life, Helpers of God’s Precious Infants, National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life, Expectant Mother Care, Healthy Respect, and Lumina. Choose one or several of the listed pro-life organizations to raise funds for and send all checks directly to the organization’s address listed on the sponsor sheet.

All are welcome to come and walk in a peaceful, prayerful procession and take a stand for life.

Good Counsel Homes serves single parenting women in crisis.  The program consists of educational and career development skills enabling each woman to develop an independent living situation for herself and her child.  Each home provides shelter, food, medical care and counseling.  Good Counsel’s structured environment gives real hope for women who have no viable alternatives, and allows them to redirect their lives and become responsible parents and productive citizens.  Good Counsel is a 501ã3 non-profit organization.  Mail donations to: Good Counsel, PO Box 6068, Hoboken, NJ 07030.          

 

The Sisters of Life are a contemplative/active religious community founded in June 1991 by John Cardinal O’Connor, the late Archbishop of New York.  Through prayer and apostolic works, the Sisters are dedicated to protecting human life and advancing a sense of its sacredness at all stages – beginning with the infant in the womb and extending to those vulnerable to the threat of euthanasia.  The apostolate of the Sisters of Life includes serving the material and spiritual needs of women who are struggling through the difficulties encountered in unexpected pregnancies.  The Sisters provide housing to pregnant women in their Sacred Heart of Jesus Convent in Midtown Manhattan.  The Sisters also offer spiritual retreats for pro-lifers and retreats of prayer and healing for those who have suffered from the effects of abortion.  In addition, they educate and evangelize on the sacredness of human life and human love, and operate the Dr. Joseph R. Helpers of God’s Precious Infants promotes prayerful and peaceful presence at abortion clinics.  They provide sidewalk counseling to pregnant teenagers and women considering abortions.  When possible they also provide counseling to the fathers of the precious infants being considered for abortion.  Counseling is also provided for women and teenagers who had abortions so that they may come to know God’s love and mercy.  They are a 501ã3 non-profit organization.  Mail donations to: Helpers of God’s Precious Infants, Monastery of The Precious Blood, 5300 Fort Hamilton Pkwy, Brooklyn, NY 11219.

 

                National Black Catholic Apostolate For Life proclaims the Gospel of Life in the African American Community.   

                They are calling for the end of abortion and all acts of violence. National Black Catholic Apostolate For Life is a

               Healthy Respect is an intensive 23-session program that teaches student in grades 4 – 11 how to build healthy

               relationships, increase self-esteem, set goals, and develop the skills to set appropriate boundaries in order to

               achieve their future goals. Our program teaches the risks of sexually transmitted infections and medically

               accurate information about contraception: guiding the students to the understanding that abstinence is the

Expectant Mother Care is New York’s oldest and largest crisis pregnancy organization serving over 4,000 girls and women annually.  They are located in Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn.  They provide onsite 2 and 4 dimensional sonogram and a full pre-natal program.  They are a 501©3 non-profit organization.  All donations are tax deductible.  Mail donations to: Expectant Mother Care, 61 Lewis Parkway, Yonkers, NY 10705.

 

Lumina: Living with the pain of abortion can be overwhelming.  Feelings of anxiety, panic, grief, guilt and shame can often seem insurmountable, but there is a way out of the pain.  You do not have to suffer alone!  Countless women and men have reached healing through Lumina's services, which include group programs, referrals to professional therapists, post-abortion ministries, and clergy members trained in post abortion stress.  A network of women and men who have walked through the pain of abortion are also ready to accompany you through the darkness, into the joy of a renewed life.
