Woke up this morning thinking about the horrific accident that took place over the weekend claiming the lives of Kortney Blythe Gordon of Students for Life and her unborn child Sophy, as well as another person, and leaving SFL employee Jon Scharfenberger in critical condition. Even though I did not personally know Kortney, I feel the grief of her loss.
There is a lot of grieving going on, as countless numbers of people who knew this extraordinary woman mourn her death and that of her unborn child, and pray for the recovery of Jon and the others hurt in the accident.
I want to say I cannot imagine the grief, but as a post abortive woman I am very familiar with deep undeniable grief, and so are you if you are reading this and post abortive. So, I am asking all of you to pray. Pray for Kortney and her unborn baby, pray for Jon and the others hurt in this accident and pray for their families, especially Benjamin, Kortneys husband of just a few months.
Offer up your suffering and ask your children (yes, you heard me right) to interceed for them all. I am certain Jesus who is Mercy HImself will hear!
May Kortney and Sophy, through the mercy of God rest in peace…amen!
May the Sacred heart of Jesus and the tears of Mary bring comfort to their families…
