Reclaiming Our Children: A Blog About Healing After Abortion

I have to admit, I got pretty angry when I looked at the new ad campaign put out by Planned Parenthood in Burlington, Vermont. Described as “a little bit cheeky and irreverent”, PP plans to have these new ads on buses, Facebook, web pages and newspapers, calling them “eye catching messaging that would resonate with young people.”

Unfortunately, they are probably right.  Innocent young people probably will get caught up in what they believe to be an organization that is on their side. So many of us fell for that ourselves before our abortions.

Among the “cheeky” phrases are, “We’re your Sexual Experience”, “We’re Your Friends with Benefits”, and, “We’re your Morning After”, all followed by endorsements for their supposed “health care “ .

In addition to the ads PP has made some new wall art, “We All Do It”, “Sex Happens” , “Good Morning After”. They describe them as “sex positive” . In reality however, casual sex which is promoted like an extracurricular activity is most often very far from positive and leads to finding out  “We’re your Mourning after”, a fact they totally ignore.

The mourning of self respect, the mourning of contracting STD’s, the mourning of abortion,sometimes the mournin g of not being able to have future children..I can go on and on. Doing this work for so many years has brought so many young women to us who found out way too late that PP doe snothing but exploit and make money off of them.

And, as if that were not enough, I also found out that they have purchased part ofg a building in NY which will be their new National Headquarters . No surprise really, with Bloomberg( whoprovided $15,000,000 in bond funding for renovations)and the City Council their advocates, I am sure they feel right at home. Sadly, although they spent 34.8 million fo rth ebuilding, somehow we still are giving them our tax dollars.

Thank God for my faith, which assures me the battle has already been won, even tough we are called to fight the good fight.

Hopefully,  these developments will wake up the general public and all this will come back to bite them…I mean really, "We're your friends with Benefits" REALLY?
