Every year on Good Friday, I am blessed to attend the 3 hours at a parish near me to hear preaching by Fr Benedict Groeschel, CFR. Many of you know he is one of the founders of the organization Lumina is a program of, Good Counsel, Inc.

I always look forward to this service as Father never fails to leave me" entering into" the mystery of God. I leave each year immersed in the Crucifixion, a great grace of which I am so grateful for.

Fr. Benedict has suffered greatly in the past years since he was hit by a car in 2004. Around 2 weeks ago he also suffered a stroke which left him unable to voice the name of certain things even though he knows the name in his head. In spite of this, he came out to share his Good Friday reflections with  us on this holy day.

I could not help but think of Christ as I watched Father struggle, not only to walk and move, but to remember words. Father spoke of the cross yesterday as "difficult, humiliating and painful". He should know

Father's gift, to be sure, is preaching.. we could never count the many souls he has touched over the years. His schedule is amazing, one that most of us would never to able to keep up with as he travels the world. Yet in spite of the difficulty he has getting around, he has maintained a hectic schedule.

"By His wounds we are healed".

As a priest of Christ, Fr too is walking towards Calvary carrying his cross…I am sure, he is offering his sufferings up for all of us. Please keep him in prayer as he continues his journey sacrificing for us by doing God's will in his life….
