The Gift
of Faith
But she came and began to bow down before Him,
saying, “Lord, help me!” And He answered and said, “It
is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” But she said, “Yes, Lord; but even
the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus said to her, “O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you
as you wish.”
And her daughter was healed at once. (Matt 15)
October 11th begins the Year of Faith in the Catholic church.
On the site of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops it states: "The upcoming Year of Faith is a “summons to an authentic and renewed conversion to the Lord, the One Savior of the world” (Porta Fidei 6).
In other words, the Year of Faith is an opportunity for Catholics to
experience a conversion – to turn back to Jesus and enter into a deeper
relationship with him. The “door of faith” is opened at one’s baptism,
but during this year Catholics are called to open it again, walk through
it and rediscover and renew their relationship with Christ and his
Church."
Truly your faith in rich in gifts if only we open to them. It is my hope that throughout this year we will share articles on Faith, the thoughts of saints on faith and also the thoughts of those who have come through our minstry. Certainly Faith plays a crucial part in healing from abortion.
May each of us open the gifts God has prepared for us as we strengthen our faith through this gift of the church.
