Election

Stigma2

It Is not easy thinking about the elections coming up on
Tuesday. In fact, my human side can get caught up in the anxiety of the whole
thing. When I feel those moments coming up, I remind myself of what I can do,
and what I need to let go of. I can vote and I can pray and fast, but aside
from that, it truly is out of my control.

As a post abortive woman that can be hard. For us this
election is about life and death. The death of our children. It is very
personal.

Before and even in the beginning of my healing, I did not think
I had a right to speak out and be vocal about this, after all I had had an abortion
myself, who was I to say anything? I held myself responsible, and to a certain
degree I was, but, I have come to learn that while I certainly had a
responsibility in the abortion, mine was not the only responsibility. Others
were certainly involved, and even society itself played a hand in the death of
my child and the over 54 million abortions since the 1973 Supreme Court
decision of Roe vs Wade.

And so, it disturbs me when I hear about people voting for
Obama because of “other” issues no matter how noble they believe them to be. I
get especially disturbed when I hear this from Catholics, or even other post
abortive women. I just cannot somehow understand how you can turn a blind eye
to the deaths of over 3,000 unborn children daily because you see another as
more or just as important. Where else are3,000 people dying daily?

I pray that these people really think about what they are
doing.  Is the blood on their hands (and
it surely will be), worth whatever else they deem to be important?

Yes, I hold a responsibility in my abortion, but so do many
other people including the strangers who sit back and do nothing while millions
of unborn children continue to die. Who allow more pro abortion laws to pass, who
turn a blind eye to the fact that minors can get abortions without parental
consent, who ignore the fact that our president supports infanticide. Who
continue to not only allow, but promote by their silence, the slaughter of the
innocent unborn.

So, I pray and let go and one other thing, I trust that no
matter what happens God is still in control and that somehow He will use it all,
no matter how it turns out, for His greater glory.
