So grateful for a successful, grace filled Lumina dinner last night. I truly felt overwhelmed just seeing how many came out to support the ministry and how far we have come in acknowledging the harm of abortion and reaching out to those suffering.
Needless to say, it was wonderful to honor Monsignor Reilly, who I truly believe is a walking saint.Twenty six clinics have closed because of the presence of The Helpers of Gods Precious Infants which he founded years ago and is now all over the world.
I will never forget when I
first met Monsignor. I do not know if he will remember but it was in front of
the Dobbs Ferry abortion Clinic over 20 years ago
Our post abortion work had
not yet begun, but I will never forget hearing him say that he was in front of
clinics not only when the women go in but when they come out, because as a
priest his role is to save souls. I remember thinking “this priest gets it”
This is what I had put on his plaque…
“For your faithfulness & quiet sacrifices in daily
standing at Calvary both to save the unborn
and those souls separated from God because of abortion. You are truly a sign of
God’s Mercy and love for us all. “
We were also so blessed to have Allan Parker, of the Texas Justice Foundation speak. Allan shared roadways in court cases that have been brought about by the testimonies of those who are post abortive and who have filled out declarations. I so appreciate all the sacrifices he has made over the years bringing to the forefront the harm of abortion.
I am so grateful to all who came, with a special shout out to the the CFR's, Fr Fidelis and Fr Lawrence, who are ALWAYS there to support this work (and also, on a personal level me!), for the many volunteers who we are blessed to have, especially Marybeth without whose help this dinner never would have happened. And for those who support and sustain me in the many spiritual battles of doing this work..and, of course, most importantly,Jesus who is Mercy HImself!
