When Mary is directed to go to Bethlehem, she knows that the time to give birth
is near. But submitting herself to the will of God, she nevertheless sets out on
the long and difficult journey. She sets out with the attitude of the
evangelical child and abandons herself in everything to the will of the Father,
whom she loves and in whom she trusts, despite not always understanding His
will."
(In
the Arms of Mary, pg. 127)
Sometimes in life we do not understand why things are happening. We are asked to "set out" or to "let go" of things that we do not want to, often in spite of the fact that we know they are not good and are unhealthy for us. Our fear often keeps us stuck in a place, and so, God often gives the extra push which can be painful.
Mary had such complete trust in God that in spite of what she was feeling she abandoned herself to His will because she knew He loved her.
When we are facing these situations in our healing, may we trust like Mary, knowing that if we are seeking to do His will, in the end much good will come out of it for our salvation.
