Reclaiming Our Children: A Blog About Healing After Abortion

I keep bringing up CNN..cannot help it..so many sharing their stories…take some time and read them….they are amazing!

As someone who had her abortion over 40 years ago, when it was legal in NY but pre Roe vs Wade, I think of how I struggled to find help and was made to feel crazy and alone by so many, because my abortion harmed me.

For years I searched and searched  only to have my feelings denied. It was 15 years before I found anyone who could even begin to understand.

Once I found healing, I began a quest to begin something for post abortive women and began haunting Cardinal O'Connor (something I still do in prayer..poor guy cannot get away from me now) to begin something for women who have had abortions. He used to jokle with me "Yes, boss, I promise we will do that".

When he began the Sisters of Life as promised, that was one of their first apostolates…the beginning of our co-developed ministry "Entering Canaan". Since that time almost 20 years ago, thousands have gone through the ministry and received healing through the grace of Jesus Christ.

I am always so happy to see so many post abortion ministries out there now, and tons of facebook pages and blogs etc ,reaching out to those who are suffering. (I was just thinking th epother day o fhow I need some major work on our web site etc to link to so many that I do not have) It brings great joy to my heart. They are ALL HIS and each has been created because people are different. Some like one, another, another, and yet others go to more than one…the important thing is for people to reach healing.

What a great joy to see the flood gates opening to healing, and the truth of abortion coming out..as Pope JPII said in the Gospel of Life , "With
the friendly and expert help and advice of other people, and as a result of
your own painful experience, you can be among the most eloquent defenders of
everyone's right to life."

Watch out world..here we come…wiser, confirmed in the Spirit and filled with the strength of the Lord….
