Jealosy

Today we hear the story of Joseph whose brothers plotted to do away with him, selling him for 20 pieces of silver out of their jealousy because he was their father's favorite.

Oftentimes people who have had abortions can get painfully jealous when seeing someone with a baby, or someone who is pregnant, or someone who has what seems like the "perfect" life of what they want. It is a reminder, or a connector, of what they do not have.

Relationships often get impacted if the person to whom the feelings are directed does not know why the relationship has changed. Those hurting from a past abortion also are known to pull away from family and friends because of the pain these situations cause them, leaving those who where once close to them wondering why.

As we meditate on the scripture today and on our own reactions of jealousy to different situations, we ask God to take this from us, knowing that although we do not know how or why, we trust He is working in us for the healing each of us needs in our lives.
