But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me;
my Lord has forgotten me.”
Can a mother forget her infant,
be without tenderness for the child of her womb?
Even should she forget, I will never forget you.
Whenever I used to hear this verse it would send me into a frenzy of guilt… did I forget my child? The world thought so, but I knew I never had. It lived with me day and night… so true, you can never forget the child in your womb even if you try – no matter what people say.
And then the verse turned into a comfort, even if it were possible to forget your child, God never forgets his children, not those who are aborted, or even the ones who had an abortion. He is there for each of them.
If you are feeling fear in approaching God, remember, He tells us He remembers all of us no matter what. He dies for all our sins no matter what and He loves us no matter what. Run to Him.
