Reclaiming Our Children: A Blog About Healing After Abortion

I try not to get into controversy here on this blog. I prefer to keep it as a place of healing for those suffering from abortion. But, there are times when I feel it is important to speak out, especially if what I read is so contrary to what I have been hearing from countless post abortive women for years being said by someone who is considered a voice for women's rights and abortion. So, this is a response to an article on RH Reality Check by Amanda Marcotte, a self proclaimed expert who somehow gets her totally off-based articles published which completely ignore the reality (Abortion is not child killing????  I've got news for you Amanda, many of us saw what was definitely our child…) of countless women who have been duped by the abortion industry.

Amanda Marcotte is at it again, proclaiming she is all for women as long as all women agree with everything she says, even if what she says is not the truth of what you experienced.

In her latest article, “Anti-Choicers Desperately Insist You See Things That Are Clearly Not There,” on RH Reality Check, Marcotte, once again tells post abortive women how we feel while commenting on Emily Letts and her abortion video.  Marcotte states, “her [Letts’s] trajectory is a fairly standard one: a little regret, a little self-forgiveness, mostly relief and joy that she was able to get help when she needed it.”

Obviously, Marcotte has not taken the time to speak to any or one of the countless women who have suffered if she thinks that Letts’s response to having an abortion is “fairly standard.” Countless women are plagued with a ton of regret, unattainable self-forgiveness, and mental torture day and night because of what they did, and a live their life very far from experiencing joy. If Marcotte did speak to us however, I am sure she would just blame our feelings on “abortion stigma” which she would then explain is brought on by everything else except the fact that we participated in the deaths of our own children.

Marcotte’s article rants about “anti choicers,” even if the person is post abortive, as if we are somehow distant and removed from the act of abortion and do not know what we are speaking about.  Surprising? No, especially after trying to comment on the article to find I have been banned from the RH Reality comboxes.

Amanda Marcotte has somehow been made a voice for women’s rights and abortion. The trouble with this is that there is a very large percentage of women who she does not speak for. She may claim to care about and trust women, but that is only if they agree with her. For all her talk about lies, the biggest lie is told by Marcotte herself as she drowns out the voices of countless women who have discovered the truth about abortion the hard way, by having one.

Abortion kills an unborn child and hurts women. All of the Marcotte-type articles in the world cannot change that truth.
