"While meeting with the them, he enjoined them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for “the promise of the Father about which you have heard me speak; for John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
It is hard to wait. I cannot imagine how the disciples felt as Jesus ascended into heaven asking them to stay put and trust that the Holy Spirit would come after Him providing the gifts they needed to spread the Gospel.
It can be like that with healing from abortion. At times we may feel as though we are moving backwards or that Jesus is gone from us leaving us unable to "feel" His spirit. We may get assailed with temptations, or bouts of despair, we may even feel like we are at the beginning of our healing journey again, but like with the disciples He asks us to stay where we are and to trust in His promise to us.
As we approach the Feast of Pentecost, beginning June 1st, we will be taking a look at the gifts of the Holy Spirit, what they mean in our lives not only in general, but as instruments for healing from abortion.
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
"If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever– the Spirit of truth.
..and the truth will set you free….
