Through the weekend….

I will be leaving in the morning for 3 days to do a "Entering Canaan" Hope & Healing retreat in Brighton, MI, so I will not be posting the next few days. Please keep us in your prayers.

Things have been hectic with the passing of Fr Benedict Groeschel, as well as emotional. His  life touched millions and he was a staple for many of us here in New York and will be greatly missed as a friend, co-worker and priest.

I ask you to please keep him in your prayers over the next few days. Here is a schedule for his wake and funeral.

Thursday, October 9th – A wake will be held at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart located at 89 Ridge Street in Newark, NJ 07104 from 4-7 PM.
A prayer vigil will be held from 7-9 PM.

Friday, October 10th – The funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart located at 89 Ridge Street in Newark, NJ 07104, at 11 AM.

(The burial will be a private ceremony not open to the public at Most Blessed Sacrament Friary, Newark, NJ)

EWTN will air Father's funeral Mass at 11 a.m. ET, Friday, Oct. 10, and the Prayer Vigil at 7 p.m. ET, Thursday, Oct. 9. They will also have a special on Sunday night at 8pm.

Because I am missing the funeral due to the retreat (as all the CFR's told me Father would want me to continue) I am happy and very thankful to Eileen Craig for arranging a private mass to be said For Fr Benedict Monday morning at the Shrine of Solanus Casey in Detroit. Fr B had a great devotion to him and I am sure this made him very happy! Thank you Eileen!

May he rest in peace!

We love you Father, and thank God for the gift of you in our lives! Pray for us!!!!!
