Reclaiming Our Children: A Blog About Healing After Abortion

Our "Entering Canaan" Mercy retreat in Medjugorje is just a little over 5 weeks away.

My first visit there was in the late 80's. I placed a small model of a baby on the top of cross mountain to memorialize my son Joshua who I had aborted. It was a cleansing trip for me…I remember crying almost the entire time I was there a deep grief I was free to finally feel as I was in Our Lady's embrace.

Fast forward to feeling called back and finally going a couple of years ago. I was not sure, why but now know it was so I would bring this coming trip to fruition.  I went alone thinking I would meet up with a specific group, but was put into what I thought was the wrong group but Mary had other ideas!It was, for sure,the group Mary wanted me with !

Working in post abortion ministry for over 20 years now, I felt a call to do a Mercy retreat for post abortive people there.  I mentioned it while we were there and someone in that group has made this trip a possibility. God's plan.

I am so very grateful for God's grace in my life and the gift of His healing. I often speak of how I was filled with anxiety and fear, unable to even order MacDonalds and am in awe how He has changed that through His mercy. From the development of Entering Canaan, the Afternoon of Prayerful Remembrance and other things that have brought many to that same Divine Mercy which was so instrumental in my own healing.

Of course He would want a retreat in Medjugorje during this Year of Mercy!

Please pray for us as we venture out on this journey of retreat as parents of aborted babies. I know Mary has much in store of us and we are all excited to see what it is, knowing full well it may not be easy.

We are so very blessed to have three of the Friars of the Renewal coming with us. Father Mariusz Koch, CFR, Fr Conrad Osterhaut, CFR, and Br Gerard. Others coming are from all over the country and in different places in their healing…I am convinced Mary has called each one.
