I wrote this a few years ago when "jail time" was a ploy used by the pro-abortion movement. I post it again here in light of the current controversy over comments made by Republican Presidential Candidate, Donald Trump and also in light of the heartbreaking current story of a twenty-one-year old who committed suicide because of abortion. Predictably, the silence regarding her life is deafening…
I am a post abortive woman and I am tired of the pro-abortion side telling me what I should feel. They continue to put great effort into denying the negative impact of abortion, stating the pro-life side has created this ploy of suffering, instead of acknowledging it is the women themselves who are speaking out.
Now, the National Institute for Reproductive Health, a pro abortion group, is making the “centerpiece of a national conversation," how much time should she do? Another scare tactic to make people fear that their mothers, sisters, or friends, will end up in jail if they have an abortion.
Abortion may not be illegal now, but to answer the question, many of us who have had an abortion are already serving a life term. Countless women live in the prison of anxiety, panic, depression, and even suicidal ideation because of abortion. Yet, instead of showing concern toward those who suffer, in the past year much time and effort has been given to debunking the claims that abortion hurts women. We have seen article after article claiming there is no such thing as post abortion stress. It is ridiculous and a great disservice to women.
Personally, I believe most Americans agree. By now, many have personally experienced or witnessed postabortion suffering in sisters, wives, friends, and daughters who have had abortions. They have encountered, first hand, the devastation abortion has caused in lives that were once happy, and relationships that were once healthy, now imprisoned by despair, anger, bitterness, and grief.
Try as the pro abortion side might to discredit our voices, people know the truth, and so do they or they would not be trying to silence us or think of other ways to make people feel guilty for not supporting abortion.
Jill June, president of Planned Parenthood, Iowa, (another pro abortion group), says people are not connecting the dots when it comes to making abortion illegal and criminal penalties of abortion. Ms. June is obviously not connecting the dots to the harm abortion has caused in the lives of countless women. But wait, I forgot, Ms. June and others say we do not feel those things.
How much time should women do? The truth is, the chances of abortion becoming illegal are very slight and just another fear tactic of the abortion industry. You have to wonder, why there is a deafening silence from them when women die in our country from "safe, legal” abortion. Nor do you hear their outcry when an abortionist maims a woman leaving her unable to have future children. Yet, their voices are loud and clear when it comes to lies, instilling fear, and trying to silence those of us who are speaking out about abortion's devastation in our lives. It just goes to show, that like the lies that made Roe vs. Wade the law of the land, nothing much has changed. The good news is people are learning the truth for themselves from the women they know who are suffering.
