Have Mercy on Us and on the Whole World

TriduumAs we enter into the Triduum, the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we experience the cumulation of the entire purpose of His life.

Christ came to give Himself totally up, to pay for our sins.  For some people this is it,  the story ends at the cross with the death of Jesus, but it does not end there.

As someone who has experienced abortion, I often feel like the story within the pro life movement often ends at the cross with the death of the unborn and the destruction of the mothers, fathers and others. It stops at the cross, showing the horror of abortion, but very often not recognizing the cross as the instrument leading to the resurrection, without which Christs life and death would have been for nothing

The power of the cross reflects the ultimate love of God, the means of our salvation. Mercy Himself come to earth, so that we may have eternal life.

Yes, the story does not end at the cross in regard  to abortion or any other sin. The cross is the means to the end. A means that in spite of its outward appearance brings peace, joy and salvation through the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ who rose from the dead and came to call sinners to Himself.
