It is not unusual for me to get questions and comments from people about "Entering Canaan." Very often, the "Day of Prayer & Healing" which the ministry begins with gets compared to various weekend retreats, with people lamenting because some things are not done within the day that are covered by others over a weekend.
The Entering Canaan Ministry begins with the Day of Prayer & Healing, in which we introduce people to the hope of healing which starts them on their path. It is no way the end of Entering Canaan, but just the beginning of the ministry.
Entering Canaan has many components which consist of the Days, monthly ongoing Gatherings (groups), and weekend retreats, the "Hope & Healing" retreat being the first weekend after the day that they would attend. We also have ongoing "Mercy" retreats which are new each year and for everyone who has attended EC, and special Gatherings in Advent. The Mercy Retreat weekends are an opportunity for continued growth in healing and spirituality as people move forward in their journey.
There are also specific retreats days, and/or weekends for men, those who aborted because of an adverse diagnosis, and siblings of aborted babies.
Comparing a Day with a weekend is like comparing a weekend to one night of a weekend retreat. The weekend retreat should be looked at in its full context, as EC should be as well.
Please take the time to visit the site and explore what EC is. As the Lord continues to bring many to the fullness of healing through His mercy in many ministries, it is essential to understand the charism of each one in His plan. Some work for some, others work for others, and some chose to do more than one. The important thing is that people heal.
Hope this helps to ease any confusion, if not please feel free to contact me.
Theresa
