Reclaiming Our Children: A Blog About Healing After Abortion

This morning I received an email from someone who has participated in the Entering Canaan ministry. She attends NYU and walked into the bathroom only to find this message on the mirror:
"Ignorance is bliss until…you need an abortion."

I thought about it for a while and it can be taken many ways.

Are they talking about sex education…if you ignorant you can end up pregnant?

Are they talking about ignoring the fact that you may be pregnant until it is too late?

Who knows. So, you can be blissful until you learn that you "need" an abortion.  No other options allowed. I bet in that environment that could be all but true considering peer pressure and the attitudes of many.

It did make me start thinking about how those of us who have had abortions can write on a mirror too.

"Abortion is a solution to a "unplanned" pregnancy…until you have one and find out what you have been told is all lies."

I guess the consolation here, if you want to call it that, is that the message, whether they realize it or not is, "abortion is very far from blissful".

I have no doubt if any of the extreme pro abortion ladies at NYU saw this they would have major issues with it. This would put a cramp in their continued attempts to normalize  abortion.

Hopefully, some of them are finding out that abortion is anything but normal.Maybe that will be the next message on the mirror.
