I love the season of Lent. A time that speaks of God's Mercy.
I did not always feel this way, especially when I was away from the church, terrified of God and feeling like there was no mercy for me because of an abortion I had in my past. I felt that God surely could never forgive me for such an act.
I lived in despair and desperation.
I thought there was no place for me, a terrible sinner, in the church.
But the truth is, it is just the opposite. Christ came to call sinners. He died on the cross for our sins, even the sin of abortion.
Lent is the manifestation of His love and mercy. A calling home to His heart and to the cross where the ultimate act of love occurs to heal us of our sins.
I am very excited for us to be offering beginning Ash Wednesday, daily Lenten reflections for those who have been impacted by abortion.
The reflections are written by women, men and siblings of aborted babies. These reflections seek to invite you into the merciful heart of Jesus where you will find forgiveness and healing.
Are you suffering from a past abortion? If so join us this Lent!
Do you know someone who is? Pass the information along so they can join us!
You will find the meditations each day on the Lumina web site
or on the Entering Canaan Ministry blog
Join us as we journey together accompanied by Mary, to the cross and the heart of Jesus which is Mercy Itself!
