If ever there were readings to fit exactly what Entering Canaan is and its message of God's merciful healing, today was the day.
Here we are at the 4th Sunday of Lent, halfway through our journey to Easter. Todays readings
really speak to the heart of the Entering Canaan Ministry.
The first reading from Joshua, speaks of the entrance into the promised land, Canaan, after 40 years of battles and ostacles.
The second is about us becoming a "new creation" and todays Gospel tells the beautiful story of the prodigal son and the fathers joy at his return .
I found it particularly relevant this year as we just had our yearly "Mercy" Retreats and the theme was "The Tender Love of God the Father".
We are all journeying to the heart of the Father who waits for us and runs out to greet us when He sees us retuning to Him, showering His presents upon us because of His great love and mercy for us.
If you have not listened yet, check out Fr Francis Mary's talks from the retreat,
We have a Father who loves us tenderly and shows us that all the times, just as he has with the readings today.
As we journey closer to Easter may we each grow in trust and love of so tender a father!
