Mary Magdalene
MmToday is the Feast of Mary Magdalene. I have often wondered what kind of traumas she had in her life and if she was post abortive. Of course I have no way of knowing for sure, but it does not seem so far-fetched. If she was a prostitute seems like there would be a high chance that she became pregnant, and we know abortion has been around forever.
I have also wondered if in some way being dragged out to be stoned to death may have seemed like a relief to her-finally an end to the pain…we never hear of her giving any resistance. Who knows. I imagine at that time she was hopeless. What we do know is that her encounter with Jesus changed her life. Made her feel safe and loved perhaps for the first time. She left her life of sin. She did not care anymore what anything thought or said-only that she was close to Him dwelling in the love of His heart-true love.
Anyway most of you have probably seen this but it is a meditation I made a few years ago. Thought I'd throw it out there.
