Veterans Day

M2
A buddy & Mike in Iraq

Some of you may know my son, Michael was a recon Marine who spent time in Fallujah a few years ago when things were pretty bad there.

I remember trying to take things one day at a time, trying to trust and just praying God would not allow another of my sons to die.

My son did come home safely, but some of his friends did not. I remember after his good friend Mike Glover died, http://www.militarycity.com/valor/2050218.html and people would say to him "You are safe because you have a lot of family and friends praying for you", he would say to me, "Mike had a lot of family and friends praying for him too." Truth be known, his words made me recognize that I needed to trust  God even if my son did not come home….trust in God's plan and providence for us, no matter what happened.

Today as we honor our Veterans, let us take the time to thank them for their service to our country, and especially remember those who gave their lives and their families.

I am proud to have a son who served.
