Silent No More

Great update from Silent no More concerning Januarys events. Although it may  not be for everyone,(they are a lot of considerations regarding family, healing etc), certainly  all can participate by praying for those who are standing  at events and perhaps by submitting testimony. You can request that they only use your first name…

February 2, 2012

Dear Friends of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign,

We hope 2012 is off to a great start for you. Here at the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, we have had an incredible January and head into February excited, encouraged and enthusiastic! We have already had a record number of events occur around the US and many new visitors to our redesigned website!

The National Campaign events in Washington DC and San Francisco were powerful – Nancy Belzile, our Regional Coordinator from North County Region, NY shared this observation, that captures the Silent No More experience:

“As I stood with the Silent No More Awareness men and women on the sidewalk leading to the Supreme Court we witnessed an overabundance of love and support. Mostly coming from the young people; it was unbelievable. They hugged us, cried with us, told us they loved us! Hearing this means so much when someone has done so, so, wrong. Young and old alike shook our hands, hugged us and showed their support.”

This is what our Pastoral Director has to say about the January events:

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

What a great time I had this year at the Walk for Life West Coast and the March for Life in DC, and at so many other events connected with these two premier pro-life events! It was great to see so many members of the Campaign on both coasts, particularly those who were able to share their testimonies for the first time. Thank you for your courage and service to the great cause of life!

In all the talks I gave and the media interviews I conducted, I urged people to match their courage with yours, and spread the Campaign testimonies far and wide! Countless times, I heard from leaders, on the local, national, and international levels, that this is the most powerful way in which we are going to restore the Culture of Life.

Speaking of leaders, did you know that on the night of the DC March for Life, there was a "pro-life hour" on the floor of Congress? Coordinated by Rep. Chris Smith, and broadcast by C-Span, this hour featured one member of Congress after another reflecting on the events of the day and the meaning of the pro-life movement. And more than one of them mentioned the Silent No More Awareness Campaign! You can see the videos here.

God bless you for being part of this growing movement of grace!

Sincerely,
Fr. Frank Pavone

Because of all the attention given to the Campaign in January, we had over 150 people register their regret and join the Silent No More Awareness Campaign. A new record!

If you are one of the newly registered people, we want to welcome you and let you know how glad we are that you are silent no more!

In reading the registrations, we noticed that some of you have not attended an abortion after-care program, to help you find a program in your area, please click here and enter your zip code – a list of programs will populate the screen, so scroll down!

The programs are designed specifically for women and men who have experienced abortion and they are hard in the beginning but once you get through the first few weeks, life-changing in a great way! We pray you will attend at least one abortion recovery program, (sometimes called post-abortion counseling) many of us have attended multiple programs! Most programs follow either a weekend retreat model or 10 week evening class schedule.

A friend sent this comment in and it captures what we feel for you –

“Our hearts ached as we struggled to fully articulate to one another our deep compassion and heartbreak for the countless men and women in our midst who are suffering from the painful effects of a past abortion—yet deny themselves healing out of shame and fear of judgment. This letter is an invitation to all of you, the one third of us who have been personally touched by abortion, and the two thirds who have not.”

As noted above, the Silent No More Awareness Campaign website has a great new look and is more user-friendly! We are also featuring the new Campaign Music Video. Every page has built-in share links so you can help us be silent no more using the various icons linking to your social media outlets.

We have also received a special request from a young man in Florida:

Jordan Blumhardt is a Senior Media Production major at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Fl.  He writes:

“I am producing a 20-30 minute documentary called "Abortion: The Right to Choose Life."  I am seeking women that are available in the next couple of weeks who are willing to share their testimonies of abortion, how they ended up choosing life, and/or adoption testimonies (gave or adopted a child). I would only be able to reach women within a few hours drive from Pensacola, Fl. (with a few exceptions if workable). The actual footage is due on February 16th. I may be able to get an extension if you are not immediately available but want to share your testimony. You can reach me at the following: Email: jdblumhardt@gmail.com or   Cell: (615) 947-5003.  Please share this with anyone who may be willing to share. I hope you can join me in this exciting project and help me make an impact for life! Thank you.”

Finally, another woman recently sent the Campaign this message:

Women who have had abortions are the only people in the world who tell people of their sin over and over and over. No one else holds a sign for the world to see  saying, "I committed adultery." or " I stole money from my family", or "I lied a lot", or I cheated on  my husband." or I cheated on a test etc.. Or I drank too much, or I ignored the speed limit, or I took Gods name in vain and swore a lot, or I looked at that guy and had thoughts of "bed." (The list against the commandments is endless).   No one……No one.  It is very lopsided.  Why does this happen?

One reason… because these women who God has forgiven, love Him so much that they want to help someone else stop from making the same sin. They share their very heart and soul with strangers in order to save another.

How many of us could do that with our own sins to help others? God bless these women who boldly let people know their past in order to save babies now in the present.

God bless these women who are "Silent No More".

Margaret Mary

This type of sentiment has been expressed to us multiple times over the years and we share it here to let all of you know that even though it is extremely hard to stand up and tell our sin of abortion to the world, it is for an even greater purpose – loving God and protecting the next generation from making the same painful mistakes we did.

May God bless you as you are Silent No More!
