I often speak about the fact that I have consecrated myself to Mary via St Louis DeMonteforte's, True Devotion. In March of 2014 it will be 26 years since I first made my consecration. I try to live the devotion daily, from prayer to receiving communion according to its way. It is a huge part of my life as I give myself to Jesus through Mary, who intercedes always on my behalf.
"I am all yours and all that I have belongs to You, Oh most loving Jesus,
through Mary your most Holy Mother!"
I wish I could say I always felt her presence, but the truth is I don't. Most times in fact, she is absent to me in "feeling", however, I know without a doubt she is there. No matter how much I stray, or how much I depend on "me" instead of them, I know she is there. Like a mom protecting and guiding her child she watches over me. Most often I cannot feel her gentle promptings as she skirts me back to the path when I wander off on my own but I count on her to do that, knowing how much she loves me.
Safely beneath her mantle I dwell, and the thought of my son Joshua being with her brings me great comfort.
I am very grateful to God for the gift of Mary, Our Mother, who always leads us to her Son.
Today on this feast Day of the Holy Mother of God may we each offer thanksgiving for so great a gift in our lives.
