It’s been over 50 years since my abortion. An event that changed life for me forever- sometimes conscientiously, other times with no awareness. All these years later I am still learning the many ways my abortion experience impacted my life, and still does.

Some people say you get healing and it’s over. A one and done. I have not found that to be true. Even with developing a ministry that thousands have gone through over the past 30 years, I am still healing myself. Still on the journey to God and heaven. He is still showing me my many wounds and the way they impact my life.

Is it the same as when I came forward for healing? No. Of course not.

Instead of walking in guilt and shame thinking there is no forgiveness, I now walk with Jesus and Mary.

Instead of being mortified by what I see, I recognize I am a sinner in need of His mercy and that mercy waits for me and wants to heal me in my deepest wounds

Yes, I believe the difference in being healed or not being healed does not come from forgetting about my aborted son, or not being sorrowful anymore, but in the knowledge of Christs love and mercy and what He has done for me in dying on the cross/ the only place with love deep enough to conquer the sin of abortion.
Many places equate the Bible verse “Rachel weeps for her children because they are no more…”, with healing in this life. Fot me it is a promise of heaven.
A reward of the total freedom from the effects of the sin of abortion

Our sorrow. Our contrition will have its reward. The reward of everlasting life with Jesus, Mary and my son Joshua.
